United Western Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq:UWBK) today announced that it is delaying the issuance of its 2008 third quarter results and the related conference call. The Company's report of its results for the third quarter of 2008 was originally scheduled for release after the market close on Wednesday, November 5, 2008. The conference call was originally
scheduled for 9:00 AM MT Thursday, November 6, 2008. The postponement is due to a delay in the completion of procedures pertaining to the evaluation of certain securities held in the Company's investment portfolio.

The Company will timely file its quarterly report on Form 10-Q with the Securities and Exchange Commission and issue its report of third quarter results on Monday, November 10, 2008 following the close of the major securities markets.
